Brunswick Strikes a Deal in Colorado Springs

A fifteen-pound sphere rests in your palms; it feels like the world in your grasp. You inhale and begin a very slow, methodical stroll forward. The sphere gains energy as you extend it backwards towards your audience. Gravity then takes over and it begins to fall, sliding down the lane until… gutter ball.

A new bowling center anywhere is great news for the community, but what’s really turning heads in Colorado Springs is that Brunswick and Summit Family Entertainment Centers have teamed up in a new partnership to bring together some of the best FEC attractions available and put them all under one smoke-free, extra-large roof – a 50,000 square feet, to be exact.

Everybody wins

The new family entertainment center dons the name Brunswick XL – fitting for a center of its size. The beast of a fun zone will be home to 36 lanes of bowling, a laser tag arena, Brunswick billiards room, a video arcade, a plethora of large TVs, and several spacious meeting rooms. This center will be Brunswick’s 100th and is set to be open by April 2012.

Fun isn’t the only thing the center is bringing to the area. The Brunswick XL center will bring with it more than 100 new jobs to the area – great news in an economy where less and less jobs are available every day.

More fun for more people

We are happy to have had the opportunity to see the family entertainment center industry change throughout the years. Being in the business for over 75 years will do that to you.

Instead of offering only bowling lanes, family entertainment centers like the upcoming Brunswick XL offer more options for more people. Of course, with so many new options comes the added risk of accidents and safety concerns. That’s where having the right professional liability insurance comes in.

New Family Entertainment Center is a Welcome ‘Surprise’

Surprise, Arizona residents looking forward to their first family entertainment center

After years of requests, Arizona’s most unexpected city will finally get its first bowling and family entertainment center next spring.

Uptown Alley plans to open a 60,000-square-foot facility that will include a bowling center, laser tag, climbing wall and restaurant for guests.

According to local officials, a survey of more than 1,000 residents found that a bowling center was their second-most requested type of business to bring to the area. Except for a movie multiplex, Surprise has no large entertainment venue.

The developer behind the project plans to host a variety of events that are fun for all ages, including bowling leagues and group events, and programs for teens and seniors.

The new family entertainment center is expected to create at least 75 new jobs and bring $4.8 million in investment to the area.

Surprise is one of the many U.S. cities that are turning to larger family entertainment centers for their communities. Last week, we mentioned a new FEC that is set to open in Colorado Springs, bringing hundreds of jobs and heaps of fun to its community, as well.

Any way you slice it, it’s a good time to be in the entertainment industry. If you are thinking about starting your own center, or are curious to know if you have the right owners insurance for your current facility, “Ask Matt,” our expert insurance underwriter.
